SoFla Web Studio uses Drupal and Ubercart to provide a new web design and functionality for Modern Jazz Radio

SoFla Web Studio (http://www.soflaweb.com), a privately owned South Florida web design, web development and search marketing agency, launched a newly re-designed website for online radio station, MOJA Radio (an acronym for Modern Jazz Radio, MO for Modern, JA for Jazz pronounced MOE-JAH).

MOJARadio.com, an online, subscription based, COMMERCIAL FREE music service is the Modern Jazz Radio Channel devoted to the “middle ground” between smooth contemporary jazz and straight ahead jazz, incorporating the Fusion era of Miles Davis and beyond. After 8 years on an XM radio channel, Beyond Jazz, the founders of MOJA Radio, Michelle Sammartino and Russ Davis created this new service and emerged as an online only subscription based service with an initial FREE TRIAL MONTH for all new subscribers to test the waters with no charge if canceled in that first month. After the initial launch of their first website and subscription service, the team at MOJA quickly realized that they needed stronger integration with their membership system, payment system, streaming service and online community.

SoFla Web Studio built the new website utilizing a Drupal Content Management System and Ubercart (http://www.soflaweb.com/services/drupal-content-management-systems). Drupal offered the ability to effectively manage membership and build community features such as personal profiles, forums and blogs. Ubercart would interface with Drupal membership and handle the checkout process for purchasing and recurring subscription payments. Everything could be easily managed through one control panel interface. All areas of content on the website are easily updated by the staff at Moja Radio including managing forum posts, news articles, homepage billboards and events.

During the process of the website re-design, MOJA Radio switched their streaming service to a more robust platform with better quality streams. Akamai was chosen as the streaming service. The team at SoFla Web Studio was able to integrate a secure page on Drupal with the Akamai streaming service to offer a simplified secure solution for all subscribers. The transition of all existing subscribers to the new membership system within Drupal was seamless to the users and the site was launched without any problems.

The new mojaradio.com offers visitors and subscribers a wealth of information and entertainment for all fans of modern jazz. Up to date industry news, event information and an online store to purchase logo-wear and fan gear, not to mention excellent commercial free music programming 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All of this easily managed through a custom Drupal website system that was built on schedule and within budget.
