Men and Women in the financial industry can be on Facebook or LinkedIn, they can Tweet, they can Reddit and Digg, etc, but its high time they had their own space on the web… a space where they will find real world expertise and insights from within their niche. Have you ever heard of or been one of the people complaining that friends share nothing but frivolous information on their social networking page? “I had a giant hamburger for breakfast!” will hardly help advance your financial career. You won’t get that on [http://www.finbox.com Finbox.

This online tool for Wall Streeters was initially launched as UnlockWallStreet.com in January 2010, as a tool to gain access to industry insights, as well as a place for those who aren’t so informed about the industry to come and learn. As the site grew, and as user feedback poured in, the team who created the site realized there was a greater need; a need to provide an exclusive online platform for those who work in Finance, or are working towards a career in finance, and a site name that spoke to that more clearly. Finbox.com is a trustworthy place for Streeters to go and share, specifically for them, for their industry, in their words. Our users write blogs about career advancement; post jobs, anonymously share salaries, and even post articles about breaking (or just interesting) news in the industry, etc. The sharing has begun, and efforts towards transparency are being made.

The initial mission remains intact, though more in depth now. “Our mission is to provide the platform where the existing intelligence in the financial services industry can be accessed, organized and understood - and to make this platform available to those interested in finding clear, accurate, actionable, interrelated information.” Now add networking and career advancement to that and you’ve got Finbox.com.
