Burbank, Ca (PRWEB) July 22, 2010
RISARC PRODUCTIONS and the Champions of Champions Elite fight series are positioned to take Muay Thai to new heights. Starting with the much anticipated premiere of the show on July 23rd at 8pm on G4, a new generation of fight fans are anticipated to join the established base ringside.
Champions of Champions Elite look forward to presenting the true sport of Muay Thai to a waiting American audience. The series will introduce some of the most respected and revered fighters ever brought together in a series of championship fights.
Muay Thai vs. Mixed Martial Arts
Muay Thai is considered so effective that you can see signs of the sport utilized in many modern mixed martial arts and fighting sports. Today you will find that over 90% of all MMA and UFC fighters currently enlist a Muay Thai trainer to enhance their striking skills for their own sport.
A large number of MMA and UFC stars of today have extensive Muay Thai back grounds and Muay Thai champions such as Ray Sefo have made smooth transitions in the UFC and MMA fight leagues by dominating their opponents with superior striking skills.
One of the key components that set Muay Thai apart from MMA is that its fighters fight from a standing position.. There are no wrestling or submission moves involved in Muay Thai and clinches are held to a minimum. This is why a fighter like Thai legend Buakaw Por Pramuk is a revered name not only in the Muay Thai community but in all Martial Arts world as well. It truly is a Warrior Sport as America will soon discover.
The Numbers Don't Lie
Muay Thai today is the fastest growing sport in the United Sates having grown from 156,000 fans to 1,000, 000 as of 2009 and the prospects for growth look even stronger now! Muay Thai has outpaced the growth of MMA and UFC in locations such as Australia where recent pay for view figures for Muay Thai broadcasts have out performed those of UFC by significant numbers.

Why You Should Watch
The saying that "Match Ups Make Fights " was created because of fights like Quarterone vs. Slowinski. It is the classic match up between brash brawler and the veteran ring technician. If Quarteron is the George Forman of Muay Thai Slowinski is the Larry Holmes.
Controversy is nothing new in the fight game and Brown vs. Kaennorsing provides plenty of it. Their first fight ended in a controversial decision in favor of Kaennorsing. A result that many in the Muay Thai community disagreed with. This is a rematch that both fighters crave.
