Covington, KY (Vocus) July 22, 2010
The Embassy Suites RiverCenter is distinguishing itself from the average Covington, KY, hotel by dedicating ample time and resources to charity. The hotel’s “Care Committee” meets monthly with a central goal of helping to make a difference in the community and in the lives of others. Various charitable initiatives take place throughout the year such as serving meals at a local homeless shelter and wrapping toys for homeless children. Most recently, the Embassy Suites RiverCenter is helping fight cancer by attempting to raise $3,000 for the Lance Armstrong Foundation, thus helping defray the cost of cancer treatment for those less fortunate.
Reservation Manager and Care Committee President, Leslie Hoppenjans states “As the Care Committee President at the Embassy Suites RiverCenter, I believe that being part of a great cause, such as the LiveStrong Foundation, gives people a reason to come together not only for the purpose of the foundation but also as a working ‘family’. The Embassy brand challenged us to raise $1,000, however, as a team; we thought we could do better and added a hotel goal of $2,000. Some of the activities we have chosen include are car washes, lemonade stands, bake sales and other activities - all for the purpose of raising money and bringing our staff together.”
