Summer is still here! Don’t miss your chance to have the best legs on the beach. Call the VCOC today to get a free consultation on varicose vein treatment specials. Dr. Alan Kanter of the Vein Center of Orange County is a specialist in Endovenous Laser Thermal Ablation (EVTA) for the removal of varicose veins. This out-patient procedure is highly safe and effective. Traditional methods of deep vein removal require surgery; a few examples of modern methods such as those provided by Dr. Kanter include laser treatment, radiofrequency treatment, and/or sclerotherapy injections. Because these methods are minimally invasive, they are much safer and do not require general anesthesia as with traditional vein treatments.
In order to perform advanced vein therapy, Dr. Kanter utilizes the duplex ultrasound system, an advanced method used to detect the exact location of each diseased vein. The ultrasound device guides the placement of either the laser fiber (as is used with Endovenous Laser Ablation), radiofrequency fiber (as is used in Radiofrequency Ablation), or sclerotherapy injection. Laser Ablation and Radiofrequency Ablation both deliver heat and energy to the effected vein from the inside, causing it to collapse and eventually become absorbed by the body. Patients will feel only slight discomfort and post-treatment downtime is minimal.
