Tim Tyler, President, said “We are proud of our ISO 14001 accreditation and continue to look for ways to minimize our impact on the environment with new technologies and practices”.
Kalamazoo, MI (PRWEB) July 26, 2010
Borroughs Corporation has achieved the highest level of environmental accreditation, the ISO 14001:2004. Borroughs retained this accreditation, again, after a series of audits performed by Alliance International Registrar, LLC. in June of 2010.
In parallel with the accreditation, Borroughs has further implemented new procedures to reduce waste and energy consumption, increase the use of recycled materials, and educate employees on environmental awareness. The Michigan manufacturing facility recently installed new forklift chargers that consume 20% less electricity. For decades Borroughs has maintained recycling programs that encompass everything from recycling paper to scrap wood and pallets. The steel they use contains anywhere from 25% to over 90% recycled content. In 2002 they implemented an innovative paint-reclamation technology that does not release any VOCs (volatile organic compounds) into the atmosphere.
Tim Tyler, President, says, “We are proud of our ISO 14001 accreditation and continue to look for ways to minimize our impact on the environment with new technologies and practices.”
