The web service Roofingbuddy.com has launched, in an effort to relieve consumers and the legitimate roofing industry of the onus of shoddy, itinerant roofers. The service assembled a directory of pre-selected, certified roofing contractors that it will match to consumer requests, according to Jeff Adams, developer of the site.
"Roof repairs and re-roofing can be scary for most homeowners," said Adams. "They have heard the horror stories of poor work and roofing crews that disappear before work is properly completed. Our legitimate roofing contractors consider it a black eye on their industry. By checking out all of the companies in our directory in advance, and pre-screening the work the consumer needs, we take the fear out of it for homeowners and provide good business people the opportunity to give the quality workmanship that raises the profile of the entire industry."
Adams pointed out that his site will only refer roofing companies that are licensed and bonded. Unlicensed and un-bonded roofers are a sore spot for homeowners, who have no protection against shoddy work. The number one complaint received by the Better Business Bureau is concerns roofers.
"We give the companies in our directory what we call the 'Roofingbuddy Seal of Approval.' It means we only refer roofing contractors with good business practices, proper paperwork, and a track record of satisfied customers."
The web service starts with consumers completing a brief online form. If possible, they include a brief description of what they need, such as having a leak fixed or storm damage. The best match with a roofer is made, and that contractor contacts the consumer directly, always providing a free, no obligation estimate.
Adams said, "The internet is the number one place people look to find services such as roofers. We decided to combine that fact with the security of finding screened, select contractors. Our customers have been gratified."
Roofingbuddy.com maintains a directory of roofers in Clearwater, FL as well as St Pete, Palm Harbor, Largo, Tarpon Springs, Pinellas Park, Safety Harbor, Dunedin and throughout Pinellas County.
