It was the first time that Home Depot had ever shared store- and item-level point-of-sale data with a supplier.

Leanne Moll, driver of the team that created a groundbreaking collaborative supply chain program for Home Depot and global outdoor power equipment leader MTD, has joined Demand Foresight as sales director.
While the Home Depot Partner Representative at MTD — whose family of brands includes Cub Cadet and Troy-Bilt — Moll led a data-sharing and analysis project that used Demand Foresight’s next-generation, neural network-driven demand planning software to reveal how both companies could maximize sales and minimize overstocks in a highly seasonal, multimillion-dollar supplier-retailer supply chain. The program also led to improvements in Home Depot’s management of its distribution centers. It was the first time that the retail giant had ever shared store- and item-level point-of-sale data with a supplier.
"New supply chain technologies have enabled suppliers and manufacturers to create downstream value with their retail partners,” said Allen Johnson, a Research Director for Gartner Research. “We’re at an exciting juncture; those with the right tools and culture to master collaborative demand planning are looking at large competitive advantages.”
“I saw firsthand how the flexibility of the software and responsiveness of the Foresight team helped us manage high-complexity, large-volume data to find better performance and profit,” said Moll. “Having been a supply chain practitioner for 15 years, the advantage of a solution created for and by supply chain professionals was immediately evident. I was thrilled at the chance to author innovative practices from the vendor side and help more companies write success stories like MTD’s and Home Depot’s.”
