Scrolf is pleased to announce a new live mobile leaderboard scoring service for golf outing events. Players on the course can enter their scores and view the live leaderboard from any mobile device like an iPhone, Blackberry or any phone with a browser. There is nothing to download for the players. According to co-founder, William Hoos, “Scrolf was designed to be easy to set-up and easy to use. It is built to be purely web browser based so there is nothing to download and anyone can use their own phone to update and view the leaderbaord. There are no complicated logins or installations for the golfers ensuring that everyone gets up and running with no hassles. Set-up for the event organizer is simple and there is no hardware required.”
Scrolf has two modes of operation, scramble and match play.
In the scramble mode, Scrolf creates a live leaderboard designed for scramble (Captain's Choice) or other stroke play golf events. Players enter their scores live from the course and view an updated leaderboard. Scramble mode supports advertising, so hole sponsorships appear on the leaderboard for another benefit and exposure opportunity to the event's sponsors. Over 80% of users of Scrolf report that Scrolf made their event more fun, increased the interactivity of the outing and was easy to use.
In the match play mode, Scrolf creates a live leaderboard for weekend golf outings and trips using match play, typically a Ryder Cup format. The live scoring for a group golf trip adds a new dynamic to the competition while out on the course. Follow each individual match live while on the course. This changes the dynamic for the weekend and really brings the whole group into each match’s action, while it is happening instead of just while exchanging stories on the 19th hole.
“Scrolf changed the game for our annual guys trip to the beach. We have been playing a Ryder Cup format with 16 guys every year for 20 years and this year we added the Scrolf scoring system. It was by far the best year ever and having live match scores was a big part of making it the best. We could see who was surging, who was choking and which matches were going to determine the overall outcome,” says Jim B. of Virginia.
Scrolf.com is a web based, live leaderboard service with easy set-up. It is available for charity and other golf outings as well as for “golf weekends” that utilize a “Ryder Cup” format. Scrolf stands for Scramble Golf and is setting the new standard in easy to use live scoring for any golf outing, whether for a charity golf event, a corporate event or just a golf outing or “golf weekend” with friends.
