Ticket Sales for Florida Water Parks in High Demand as Summer Heat Swells

Compared to many attractions and family friendly outings, water parks are an inexpensive choice to beat summer heat and have a blast. According to Aecom, a Los Angeles based consulting firm, attendance at North America’s water parks was up 3 percent last year. Growth was even more dramatic before the recession: from 2005 to 2009, attendance swelled by nearly 12 percent. A family-owned theme park ticket company in Orlando that offers deep discount options popular with individuals and families has seen interest run high as vacationers discover water parks are a hot place to stay cool.

Few places in the United States get hotter than Florida in the summer. Fortunately, Central Florida is home not only to America’s favorite theme parks but water parks as well, and many vacationers are choosing to inject some refreshing, relaxing fun at some of the most popular water parks when they travel to Orlando.

“Right now almost half of our online ticket sales are for water parks in Orlando, which is a 15 percent jump in same sales from last year,” said Patrick Pulliam, owner of The Official Ticket (OTC), which sells discounted tickets, passes and upgrades to Universal Studios, Walt Disney World, Kennedy Space Center and SeaWorld, among others. “We’re also doing a brisk telephone business for people looking to purchase a one-day ticket to a water park.”

OTC offers reasonably priced, top tier tickets to water parks including Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach, Aquatica, SeaWorld and Wet ‘n Wild.

Pulliam said that water parks are popular for a number of reasons, including people looking for a cool break from hot and humid outsides temperatures partnered with self-contained fun. “Water parks are a great way for families to enjoy water together without worry of young children entering a pool or the ocean unsupervised. Florida’s coastal location makes it one of the most beautiful states to enjoy water fun, and water parks provide an added measure of safety and security,” he added.

“We have many ticket options for vacationers who want to visit Walt Disney World’s theme parks and water parks, and options for those who are interested in purchasing individual tickets to Orlando’s other water park experiences,” said Pulliam.
OTC’s most popular individual water park ticket options include:
Aquatica Adult or Child Ticket
Walt Disney Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach 1 Day Admission Ticket
Wet ‘N Wild Ticket – 14 Days Unlimited

“We also cater to the folks who want an all-inclusive, inexpensive ticket package,” said Pulliam, adding that one to 10 day packages are available, with OTC adding free days to select packages. Among the popular deals are Walt Disney World Adult Park Hopper and Water Park Tickets, where customers can choose the number of days they’d like to stay.

“Each water park is unique,” noted Pulliam, who has visited Orlando’s water parks more than a dozen times in the past two years. “Aquatica is an off-beat water park created by SeaWorld and contains 3.3 million gallons of water in six lagoons, rivers with waterfalls, and two wave pools. Blizzard Beach was built around a legend about a freak snowstorm in Florida, and when the snow melted, a water park emerged. Typhoon Lagoon’s biggest attraction is Crush 'N' Gusher, a water roller coaster whose powerful water jets propel visitors up and down a series of tunnels and slides. Wet ‘N Wild is generally considered the world's premier water park,” he continued, and has been voted America’s number one water park for several years in a row. “Wet ‘N Wild is a Universal Orlando water park on 30 acres and is filled with attractions for the fearless,” he said with a laugh, adding that “there are plenty smaller kid versions of the park’s most popular rides.”

Pulliam is aware that consumers have many options when purchasing tickets online. “What distinguishes us from other ticket sellers is our dedication to service excellence and our upfront pricing structure. We never add on ‘pass-through’ fees or other hidden costs,” he said. “Many times a consumer gets hit with extra fees only after he or she has spent a lot of time finalizing their choices and is ready to make a purchase.”

The Official Ticket Center has been an industry leader in discount Orlando attraction tickets for more than 10 years. Its offerings are available online or over the telephone through a toll-free number, and the company is known for its fair pricing, integrity, and commitment to customer satisfaction.
