New York, NY (PRWEB) July 28, 2010
On Tuesday, August 3rd 2010, IT Computer Support of New York, Anheuser Busch and the rock band Home to Henry will host a benefit show to raise much needed funds for a local animal shelter in New York City. The concert will be held at The Parkside Lounge located at 317 E. Houston St. in the lower east side of Manhattan with proceeds going to Social Tees Animal Rescue at 124 East 4th Street, in New York’s Lower East Side.
The evening will feature New York City based Americana Power-Pop band Home to Henry with Glenn Raucher on vocals, Jason Staal or Guitar, Todd Montgomery on guitar and vocals, Lenny Trinceri on bass and vocals and Kevin Cerovich on drums and vocals. An acoustic set will kick-off the evening by “Hell of High Water.”
With a $10.00 donation that will go directly to The Social Tees Animal Rescue, patrons will get $2.00 Bud Lights all night donated by IT Computer Support of New York and Anheuser Busch.
For the past 20 years, Social Tees Animal Rescue has rehabilitated and placed over 15,000 dogs, cats, birds and reptiles from local kill shelters. They rely completely on funding and are a non-profit 501c3. Social Tees is 100% no-kill and many animals have lived there for decades before being placed.
Home to Henry bassist, Lenny Trinceri, proposed this idea to Karen and Chris from the Parkside Lounge because the band has enjoyed performing there several times within the past year. “I feel it is a great way to use our music to do some good for these animals that depend on us to keep them healthy and safe,” said Lenny. Karen and Chris were very enthusiastic about the idea. In fact, Karen has known Rob Shapiro for 20 years. “Rob has been an advocate for animal issues since I’ve known him. Some of my friends have actually adopted some reptiles from him,” said Karen.
IT Computer Support of New York’s president, Dan Scolnick, has been a long time supporter of efforts to rescue animals. In addition to rescuing his own four cats and many others, Dan has participated in racing events such as “Uncorked” by Hooked on Driving, to benefit the SPCA of Monterey County, CA. When hearing about the efforts of Home to Henry’s to raise funds for the Social Tees Animal Shelter, he quickly jumped on board. Many of the principals and employees of IT Computer Support of New York have and continue to be involved in animal rescue, including cats, dogs, ferrets, and even stranded sea turtles.
