Fashion Network-Seattle (formerly Seattle Fashion TV) has launched a new online platform with the dual purpose of both exposing, educating and empowering the Seattle fashion industry, and informing the local industry on international trends and resources.

Via this new online platform, Fashion Network-Seattle exposes Seattle's fashion industry by promoting and profiling local designers, photographers, models and other industry professionals, as well as local boutiques; covering local fashion events such as fashion and trunk shows and store openings; creating original editorial content around fashion and beauty; and offering an in-depth fashion calendar.

"Our goal is two-fold: first, we strive to serve as a global launching platform for local designers as our viewers are coming from all parts of the world. Second is to be a resource for consumers to familiarize themselves with local talent in order to build a reputable and profitable industry in Seattle," says Cynarah Ellawala, COO and VP of Marketing.

Fashion Network-Seattle also strives to educate and empower those both inside and outside the fashion community with its neighborhood shopping guide and instructional videos.

"We want this to be more than an online 'fashion magazine' we really want to challenge and expand the boundaries of what fashion means to Seattleites," explains Founder, CEO and Creative Director Shalonne Foster.

"Did you know that Neiman Marcus's world-wide fashion director, Ken Downing is a Seattle native, that there are 5 local colleges and universities offering degrees in Fashion Design, Fashion Marketing and Merchandising and that we have over 100 local designers in the area? I was surprised to discover these things when I moved here from New York. Seattle has a strong fashion community and Fashion Network-Seattle is meant to expose that," adds Ellawala.

Fashion Network-Seattle was founded by Shalonne Foster in 2009, following her work for a local Fortune 500 company and time traveling the globe discovering the geographical oddities of fashion and function. It is led by Ms. Foster and Cynarah Ellawala, who has over 12 years of experience working on brands such as Lancôme, Matrix Hair Products, Murad, PetsMart, The Clorox family of products and Microsoft.
