Vital Record Resources, http://www.vitalrecordresources.com, a website providing useful information regarding obtaining vital records from various government and other sources has just launched with the aim of helping people by providing relevant contact details and other useful information regarding state vital records offices nationwide, as well as links to other relevant and useful vital records resources.
Vital Records Resources has been built solely for the convenience of others and features state vital record office information as well as other resources in one place, covering the whole of the USA, including Hawaii, Alaska and Washington D.C. Each state is represented and for each of them we’ve listed contact information for each respective state vital records office, what vital records they provide (including record type, dates and other notes), as well as other useful statewide vital records resources.
For those who wish to start their search simply and easily, whether they’re researching their own families history or otherwise; Vital Record Resources is a good jumping off point. The website also features a simple and easy to use tool known as VERST, or the Vital Event Records Search Tool. This tool provides links to numerous and searchable statewide vital records databases and indexes that are maintained by government departments, organizations and individuals.
Currently, not all states are represented in VERST as resources may not exist yet, but relevant, statewide databases and indexes are being added as they’re found. Users can even email in and suggest more resources that can be added. The Vital Event Record Search Tool isn’t particularly fancy, and even the website itself isn’t the prettiest in the world, but that doesn’t matter. Vital Record Resources wasn’t made to look pretty. It was made to help.
