Achieving ISO 9001:2008, on top of the other certification that we have earned, is a clear indication that Catapult practices what it preaches in terms of following quality-centric practices. Achieving these certifications is an integral part of our commitment to our customer and subcontractors as well as our own corporate operations.
Bethesda, MD (Vocus) July 27, 2010
Catapult Technology, Ltd. (Catapult), a leading Information Technology (IT) contractor to the federal government, has received ISO 9001:2008 certification from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
ISO 9001:2008 certification confirms that Catapult operates a corporate Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001:2008 requirements. BSI, the company’s external auditor, measured the certification against Catapult corporate capabilities and the contract with the U.S. Army Information Telecommunications Agency’s Defense Continuity Integrated Network/Pentagon Continuity Information System (DCIN/PCIS Directorate). Catapult has held that contract since 2007.
The annual audit covered such topics as continuous process improvement and customer satisfaction, as well as corporate operational functions like purchasing, contracts, human resources. The audit also addressed control of service provision, service realization, design and development.
ISO 9001:2008 is important because it provides concrete evidence that Catapult follows its established Quality Management System (QMS) and ensures that the company is delivering services of the highest quality standards to the federal government.
Randy J. Slager, CEO, Chairman, and founder of Catapult, said, “Achieving ISO 9001:2008, on top of the other certification that we have earned, is a clear indication that Catapult practices what it preaches in terms of following quality-centric practices. Achieving these certifications is an integral part of our commitment to our customer and subcontractors as well as our own corporate operations.”
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is a worldwide body based in Geneva, Switzerland. With 162 member countries, its purpose is to promulgate worldwide proprietary industrial and commercial standards.
Catapult was previously certified for ISO 9001:2000, which it earned in 2004 and held up to this year; and ISO 20000:2005, which it earned in October 2009. In 2009, the company was reappraised at Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI®) Level 3, an important industry designation that confirms Catapult’s adherence to software engineering best practices and effective processes.
