Venice, CA (PRWEB) July 28, 2010
On September 17, 2009, Mitrice Richardson was released from the Lost Hills/Malibu Sheriff’s Station between 12:30 a.m. and 1:00 a.m. without her wallet, identification, cell phone or transportation, in a remote area of Malibu far from home. She has not been seen since.
On July 27, 2010, a Superior court lawsuit was filed by Michael Richardson (father of Mitrice Richardson) alleging that Los Angeles County and individual Sheriff’s deputies were negligent in releasing Mitrice Richardson after she had exhibited signs of mental health problems, without first summoning medical professionals to conduct a mental health evaluation and notifying Ms. Richardson’s family that she was being released. (Case No. BC442405, Los Angeles County Superior Court)
Since her disappearance, Michael Richardson has been tirelessly searching for his daughter, Mitrice, to no avail. Through this lawsuit, he hopes to gain information that will assist him in finding Mitrice. He also seeks to prevent the Sheriff Department’s negligent practices from harming other families.
