Personal confidentiality and safety are central to our offering and whilst this might seem a little at odds with the rise in social media we strongly feel that within the world of dating it is not only important but essential...

A traditional speed-dating event will see singles filling out scorecards after each speed date and at the end of the event handing them in to the organizer. The organizer will then inform the speed daters within 48 hrs, normally by email, of the people that have jointly selected each other as a possible match and then give personal contact information for the relationship to continue.
Whilst this is a great leap forward from the naming and shaming, at the end of the event, of the pre-email and mobile phone world it is still a long way from where date-mi.com believes we should be.
CEO Sufian Abdullah explains, “Our cards allow people a great deal of flexibility, power and control to decide on how they want a possible relationship to develop. Often speed dating events involve alcohol as a means to relax everyone and this can lead to hasty decisions. The cards mean that a speed dater can log online the next day and check out the profile of someone that gave them a card, share and discuss potential dates with friends before making a decision on whether to contact or accept a connection request.”
Speed dating events along with singles events and singles holidays are on the increase as the numbers of single people in the UK grows each year. Online dating has become mainstream and it is only a question of time before mobile dating technology takes off in a big way. It will be interesting to see where the good old-fashioned face-to-face initial contact fits in.
Sufian Abdullah adds further, “Personal confidentiality and safety are central to our offering and whilst this might seem a little at odds with the rise in social media we strongly feel that within the world of dating it is not only important but essential. Our cards can be used outside of the speed dating event and there is no possibility of someone searching for you online as the cards are the key to access your profile.”
Speed dating organizers can now focus solely on the event and making sure the customer experience is great. A back end system allows speed-dating companies to track the success of their events and compare previous performance. The cards are designed to add a new revenue stream and also
create brand loyalty.
Cards are about the 1/3rd the size of a typical business card and can be customized with personal messages and there will be the option to include a picture in the very near future. A pack of 20 cards retail at £4.95.
