BACnet International Announces Board of Directors: Welcomes Five Returning Directors and Two New Directors to Continue Building Automation Mission

BACnet International, the industry association that facilitates the successful use of the BACnet protocol in building automation and control systems today announced the next term of its board of directors. The board will be comprised of five returning executives, including Andy McMillan, Nancy Stein, Todd Wilson, Raymond Rae, and David Robin. New to the BACnet International board are Paul Jordan and Brad Hill. The current board will continue to focus on expanding the use of the BACnet building automation protocol.

Current President is Andy McMillan, who is also President & General Manager of Philips Teletrol. Andy works with users and suppliers to expand and enhance the BACnet community. When asked about serving as President of BACnet International, McMillan said, “BACnet International has made outstanding progress over the past few years in its effort to provide interoperability testing and educational programs to help building owners and operators, building engineers and facility managers advance the BACnet protocol.” Mr. McMillan added, “I look forward to continuing my work with the BACnet community benefit the entire industry.”

Also returning for another term with the BACnet International Board are Nancy Stein, Director of Product Marketing for Siemens Building Technologies, Todd Wilson, Construction Project Representative at Michigan State University, Dave Robin - Head of Software Development - Automated Logic Corporation, Mike Newman - Manager, Department of Utilities and Energy Management Computer Section - Cornell University, and Raymond Rae, Vice President, Delta Controls Inc. This returning team brings years of experience in building construction, standards development, building controls automation, and energy management. Mr. Rae expressed why he continues to serve on the board of BACnet International, “BACnet is all about what’s good and best for the customer, and as an individual and as an industry representative I believe strongly in contributing to the overall success of BACnet.”

New to the BACnet International board of directors is Paul Jordan and Brad Hill. Currently, Paul Jordan, P.E., is the Chief Technology Officer for American Auto-Matrix; a commercial controls technology leader and US manufacturer. Mr. Jordan commented on why he chose to be involved with BACnet and BACnet International, “The world is seeing an explosion of value enabled by the adoption of standards relative to the Internet community. BACnet represents the concomitant standards framework for the world of HVAC Controls and BACnet is a key enabling technology for achieving gains in the enormous commercial building energy opportunity arena. Mr. Jordan added, “I wanted to participate and contribute if possible to the expansion of BACnet as the standards framework in these areas.” Brad Hill presides over software development projects as Global Technical Manager for Honeywell's Automation and Control Solutions business group. Mr. Hill shared his feelings about joining the BACnet International Board of Directors, “I have become involved with BACnet International to help continue the effort with planning and communicating the activities of the organization, and to assist with coordination with related consortiums, particularly in the areas of testing and the evolving standard.”
