Everything in Washington comes with a price tag, and signing President Barack Obama’s birthday card is no exception.
Chicago, IL (Vocus) July 29, 2010
Long time transparency and pro-liberty Candidate for U.S. Congress from Illinois’ 5th Congressional District, David Ratowitz, says he’s flattered that First Lady Michelle Obama is using his idea of holding a fundraiser to celebrate President Barack Obama’s 49th birthday.
According to Ratowitz’s Facebook page, his fundraising event was launched July 20th, a full week before Michelle Obama announced to USA Today that she would be using her husband’s birthday as a fundraiser. “I’m truly flattered” said Ratowitz. “I welcome a little friendly competition.”
Michelle Obama asks supporters to “sign” Obama’s electronic birthday card, which will then redirect signers to a web page asking them to donate to the Democratic National Committee. “Everything in Washington comes with a price tag, and signing President Barack Obama’s birthday card is no exception.” said Ratowitz.
With tongue firmly in cheek, The Ratowitz Campaign decided to hold a celebratory money bomb on August 4th to raise funds to help the Republican Candidate for Illinois’ 5th Congressional District defeat his opponent, Mike Quigley, who Ratowitz says “..is a rubber stamp vote for the Obama/Pelosi agenda.”
“Enough is enough. The Obama agenda must be stopped. Help me send a message to President Obama this August 4th, on his own birthday, by contributing to my campaign.” said Ratowitz
