College Mentors for Kids, a growing non profit organization pairing school children with local college student mentors, announces the launch of their new website

College Mentors for Kids of Indianapolis, Indiana is pleased to announce the launch of their new Website. The site is designed to provide volunteers, mentors and donors with easy access to news and information about student mentoring and the resources provided by the College Mentors programs. The new website at is user-friendly and informative, helping everyone from potential donors and volunteers to participating mentors, families and schools discover the benefits of mentoring, as well as new and easy ways to get involved and volunteer or donate.

Founded in 1995 by Heidi Schmidt and Kristin Huang, College Mentors began with the goal to improve the lives of children by encouraging education. Pairing first through eight grade children with college student mentors, College Mentors strives to create meaningful mentoring relationships that teach kids the importance of higher education, self-reliance, self-confidence and the ability to make wise academic and social decisions. Children in the program learn valuable lessons by interacting with their mentors and by participating in activities that cultivate a sense of community and empowerment. By providing programs that utilize role models and hands on activities, College Mentors for Kids endeavors to inspire, educate and connect with children and families.

The new website helps visitors discover the process and results of the College Mentors program, offering testimonials, statistics, mentor and staff profiles, as well as informative videos and an easy donation process. College Mentors Vice President Amanda Koushyar sees the new website as an opportunity to extend beyond community barriers to increase awareness and reach potentially interested families and administrators. Koushyar explains, “The new website will help College Mentors for Kids achieve its mission of inspiring, educating, and connecting youth through mentoring by better connecting us to participants, volunteers and donors.”
