Westfield, MA (PRWEB) August 4, 2010
Universal Mind, an award-winning digital solutions agency, today announced it has launched iBrainstorm, a multi-device collaboration tool developed for Apple devices that allows users to seamlessly share ideas between the iPad and iPhone. Designed to easily collect ideas and organize them in a collaborative environment, iBrainstorm gives up to four iPhone users the ability to capture concepts on “sticky notes” and “flick” them from iPhone to iPad devices.
iBrainstorm for the iPad was introduced to the Apple AppStore on July 21, 2010 and quickly became the third most downloaded application of all free iPad apps, and the #1 most downloaded app in the free Productivity apps category.
Today marks the introduction of the iBrainstorm Companion for the iPhone, allowing users to share concepts across devices, between iPad and iPhone. While there are numerous sketching and sticky note applications available for Apple devices, none currently allow sharing between the iPhone and the iPad in an elegant and seamless way.
“The brainstorm process has been notoriously difficult to capture digitally,” said Brett Cortese, CEO of Universal Mind. “Whether you’re a user experience designer, software developer or simply trying to share creative thoughts with your coworkers, it’s a problem you’ve likely tried to remedy by taking shaky camera phone pictures of whiteboard notes, scanning paper sketches or collecting sticky notes off the meeting room wall. By allowing iPad and iPhone users to quickly create and share ideas—and even email these assets to clients and coworkers–iBrainstorm instantly makes the collaboration process digital, simple and portable.”
With iBrainstorm, iPhone and iPad users can:
iBrainstorm was created by Universal Mind through a User Experience (UX) process called “sketchboarding” and mirrors the method the company employs when it conceptualizes ideas for its clients, which include enterprise organizations such as Adobe, Colorado Department of Education, Kodak and Verizon Wireless. Following its own best practices, Universal Mind created iBrainstorm through prototyping and testing within its UX team, taking a user-centric design approach where all features and functions were created through user interviews, testing and observation to develop and refine the final iBrainstorm application.
“iBrainstorm is exemplary of how Universal Mind approaches multi-device initiatives and the application is now an integral part of the design process for our clients,” said Cortese. “It’s been an invaluable tool for coming up with innumerous ideas and then weeding through them to separate the great from the good. We’ve successfully used it for concepts as diverse as software development, proposing a new model for a major refrigerator manufacturer, even remodeling someone’s basement! While iBrainstorm was developed for designers and developers to conceptualize ideas in a fun and simple way, it’s also a great way to share using a multi-device application.”
iBrainstorm will be available for the Android in the coming months and will allow for collaboration with the iPad and the iPhone. Future plans also include enabling the application to run through the cloud so users will not be limited by physical proximity for fast and engaging collaboration.
