We realized that Dallas was missing a children' s book boutique, that special place where young readers can find a picture book they love as well as meet the incredible authors and illustrators they admire. We have found that a child who meets one of their favorite authors and illustrators can be positively inspired to read and explore their own creativity.

This 100 year old quaint house on 2925 Fairmount Street in Uptown Dallas, offers a unique space that transports the art collector and book lover into a magical world. One enters through the Spanish style gates and into The Story Book House that has beautiful hand carved wood and marble inlays. In addition, elaborately carved laurel wreaths and lion sconces over look the story time room where children delight in free story times held every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 10:30 (for ages newborn to about 7years). The Story book House has six unique rooms, each of them are teeming with a wonderful selection of children's picture books, clever book gift baskets, toys, contemporary art and original children’s book illustrations from classic artists such as Eric Carle to the hysterically whimsical illustrations of David Catrow.
The Children's book gift baskets are a meaningful and perfect present to celebrate the holidays, birthdays and/or any milestone in a child's development. These baskets are imaginative gifts for newborns to about fourth grade. When a child receives a Story Book House gift basket you are sharing with them the gift of reading that will last a lifetime. The high quality, beautifully illustrated books will be treasured for generations and treated like family heirlooms. The gift baskets include carefully selected books arranged in a decorative reusable container and are colorfully wrapped. The gift baskets can be customized for your specific celebration and/or reader's interests. (The book gift baskets are available for sale at $75, $150 and $300).
The Story Book House will soon offer online a story book gift registry. It is a fabulous way to start your child’s library and offers a thoughtful and fun way to share the gift of reading. Studies support that you cannot start reading to your child too early. Reading to a newborn not only encourages and nurtures reading for later years, but creates an important precedence for making that special bonding time between parents and their children. Parents can register for a newborn collection of ten classic books that comes arranged in a lovely wicker bassinet, a toddler collection of ten books in a book buggee or with book ends, a budding reader collection of ten books arranged with fun book ends or in a creative container and an emerging chapter book reader of ten books also with book ends or in a creative container.
