Safety Solutions Inc. yesterday announced the issuance of a new utility patent from the Office of Patent and Trademarks, related to its Hybrid™ head restraint. Safety Solutions’ holds the most patents related to Head Restraint Technology for the racing industry.

This patent involves a restraint device that controls movement of, and reduces forces applied to a driver’s head, neck and spine when the driver is subjected to a high acceleration and vibration forces – such as those forces that may occur during a drag race, and, in addition, to when a driver is subjected to deceleration forces associated with a collision event.

The Hybrid head restraint features a multi-point tethering system for controlling the head and neck of a driver while operating a high performance vehicle.
