Some Noises are Too Loud and Irritating; Eastwood's Thermo-Coustic Barrier Makes it Cool and Quiet

Eastwood has developed the Thermo-Coustic Barrier to create a significant reduction in road or engine noise and driveline vibrations. It also helps keep heat from penetrating the vehicle’s interior, drastically increasing the comfort level. Eastwood's Thermo-Coustic Barrier - reduction in road noise - heat resistant auto interior

Every bump in the road, every driveline vibration, triggers an onslaught of rattling or vibrating that seems impossible to pinpoint, and it slowly grates on your nerves

Pottstown, PA (Vocus) August 9, 2010

Eastwood has developed the Thermo-Coustic Barrier to create a significant reduction in road or engine noise and driveline vibrations. It also helps keep heat from penetrating the vehicle’s interior, drastically increasing the comfort level. The end result is an easily installed, muffled “deadened” sound with a heat resistant auto interior.

Like the sound of a fingernail on a chalk board or the buzz of a bee close to your ear, some noises are consistently annoying; leading people to cringe or want to do something to stop it. The best automotive comparison is having a loose part somewhere in the interior of a car and not be able to find it.

“Every bump in the road, every driveline vibration, triggers an onslaught of rattling or vibrating that seems impossible to pinpoint, and it slowly grates on your nerves,” said Joe Richardson, auto restoration expert at Eastwood, the marketer of tools and supplies for repair, restoration, and modification of cars, trucks, and motorcycles.

Eastwood’s Thermo-Coustic Barrier is comprised of three main parts, each of which serves a vital purpose. The high performance aluminum facing reflects heat back at its source to keep the auto interior cool. Bonded to this facing is a .06 in. layer of butyl rubber, designed to be impermeable to air and reduce vibrations in the bodywork. Finally, there is a dual-purpose hi-tack adhesive which not only makes installation easy, it adheres to any surface. It also conforms easily to interior and door panels. A hi-tack adhesive allows secure installation -- even up underneath a trunk lid.

The end result is an easily installed, muffled “deadened” sound with a heat resistant auto interior.

“As a bonus, Richardson said, "you’ll be able to enjoy a richer sound quality from your stereo, simply because the Thermo-Coustic has significantly decreased all the other ambient noise.”
