Brain injury is the signature injury of the War in Iraq, a leading cause of death and disability among young people, and a growing risk for older Americans.
On Saturday, October 16, the Brain Injury Association of New Jersey will hold its annual Walk for Thought / Cycle for Safety event, an opportunity to support the Association and help raise awareness about brain injury and the critical need for prevention.
“The Walk for Thought / Cycle for Safety is a great day of walking, cycling, and family fun,” said Brain Injury Association of New Jersey President & CEO Barbara Geiger-Parker. “The event brings significant awareness for brain injury and raises much-needed funds for the Association. This is a great opportunity for our constituents, families, and cycling enthusiasts to come out and enjoy the beautiful fall weather and raise money and awareness for those affected by brain injury.”
This statewide event will once again take place in 2 locations:
Saddle River County Park
Dunkerhook Area, Pavillion D, North Trail
Paramus Road
Paramus, New Jersey

New this year at Washington Crossing State Park there will be 50, 25, or 10 mile road routes for cyclists of all abilities. The ride is open to all level of cyclists from beginner to serious. Rest Stop and SAG (Support and Gear) support will be provided on all routes.
At both locations, casual walkers and riders can take in the beautiful fall scenery along walking paths and enjoy lunch and activities with all participants.
Each registrant is encouraged to collect donations that will support the programs and services of the Brain Injury Association of New Jersey. Awards will be presented to the highest individual fundraiser and highest fundraising team for each event site.
