Dallas Bariatric Surgeon Dr. David Kim and Nate Newton Continue Winning Season

In support of bariatric surgery in Dallas, the weight-loss success resulting from the partnership between Dr. David Kim and Nate Newton continues to flourish. As of the final week of July 2010, Nate Newton has lost a total of 133 pounds following his vertical sleeve gastrectomy at Dr. Kim’s Live Life Again Center for Bariatric Surgery.

Following his weight loss surgery in Dallas, TX at the Live Life Again Center for Bariatric Surgery, Nate Newton has lost a total of 133 pounds as of the final week of July 2010. With the partnership Mr. Newton and board-certified Dallas bariatric surgeon Dr. David Kim have forged, they continue to pursue their common goals by showing that anyone is capable of dramatic weight-loss with the support of the right team.

While Dr. Kim performs a number of weight-loss procedures, such as the LAP-BAND in Dallas, Dr. Kim and Mr. Newton decided an alternative procedure was better suited to help them achieve their weight-loss treatment plan. The vertical sleeve gastrectomy procedure involves removing a portion of the stomach to limit the amount of food that can be ingested to provide an earlier feeling of fullness. Coupled with an insatiable appetite for exercise, Mr. Newton is well on his way to his goal weight of 235.

As Mr. Newton’s initial weight-loss journey with Dr. Kim is nearing completion, a new partnership has been formed to continue to support bariatric surgery in Dallas. In the coming weeks, Dr. Kim will team up with Ben Rogers, another ESPN sports personality, and provide fans and patients alike with an inside-look at another weight-loss success.

About Dr. Kim

David Kim, MD earned his medical degree from the College of Medicine at Northeastern Ohio Universities. He completed his General Surgery residency at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Dr. Kim received a fellowship for Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass at the Medical College of Virginia, as well as a fellowship at Park Medical Center for Peripheral Vascular Surgery. He is a member and fellow of the American Society for Bariatric Surgery and the American College of Surgeons, and is a member of the American Society of General Surgeons, the Tarrant County Medical Society, and the Southeastern Surgical Congress.
