Savings Up To $25,000 On Homes In A Luxury Resort In Canada’s Okanagan Valley, B.C.

New buyers of a select few homes will be able to live free for a year in one of the only luxury condominium complexes in Penticton, B.C., where two lakes anchor the small city and vineyards and wineries abound, thanks to a new program offered by the developers.

It’s been referred to as Napa North – and with good reason.

The Okanagan Valley in the heart of British Columbia, Canada, is the northern tip of the Sonoran desert, so the exceptionally mild climate means not only a summer playground for outdoor enthusiasts, but the setting for world-renowned vineyards and award-winning wineries.
It’s the perfect spot for that recreation or investment property.

Breeze Properties takes that seriously, offering a luxury condo development of two buildings with 30 units in total and clean, estate finishing throughout.
“With a shortage of quality building sites close to the lake in Penticton, we chose to build high-end luxury homes,” says Steve Brown, one of the principals in the development. “With only 30 suites on the property spread over two separate buildings with 18 suites in one building and 12 in the other, we have created one of the most private and exclusive condominium developments in the area.”

Brown is president and CEO of Gypsum Drywall (Southern), one of Western Canada’s largest commercial drywall contracting firms, and partner in several other multi-family resort properties.

Brown has two other partners, Doug Mazurek and John Lane, both experienced in residential construction.

“With our combined construction and management experience totaling more than 70 years, most of which has been in multi-level and high-rise construction, it has gone a long way helping us know how to produce a well-built product that is very functional,” says Lane. “The attention to small details makes an obvious difference.
While Skaha Breeze is sophisticated and elegant from the outside, its uniqueness is all in the details.

As an example, the rooftop decks on the buildings have 360-degree views of the whole area, including spectacular views of Skaha Lake across the street, the smaller of the two lakes that anchor Penticton.

The decks have rubber floors for comfort, and partial roofs with misters to keep residents cool on the hottest of days.

One of the parking facilities has two entrances for extra convenience, and decorative, coloured concrete driveways add to the curb appeal. The parking is located on the first floor of the buildings.

Inside the units, windows are almost floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall to provide a bright appeal and capture those views yet again.

The open-concept floor plans include gourmet kitchens with all the latest high-end features made for entertaining. Sizes of units range from 781 square feet for one-bedroom units to 1,395 square feet for two-bedroom suites with a den – and 10 floor plans are available.

Contemporary roller blinds are on windows, queen-size beds are in all bedrooms, nine-foot ceilings are standard, units all have air conditioning, and heated floors are in kitchens and bathrooms.

And of course, a wine fridge is just waiting to be filled with all the unique, spectacular wines from the region. The whole valley has close to 100 wineries, with 24 in the Penticton area that includes Naramata, just a five minute drive.

Most of the wineries host tastings, have unique architecture, provide outdoor patios with menus to complement the wines – a perfect way to while away the hours.
Wine festivals are held in the spring and fall, with many activities and tours to make life even more fun.

“The whole area is a magnet for both vacation and retirement living,” says Brown. “It has such a wonderful diversity of experiences, from wine tasting, to searching the warm waters of Lake Okanagan for the legendary Ogopogo, to simply enjoying the mild climate, Penticton has it all.”

One-bedroom units in Skaha Breeze are priced from $270,000 (Canadian) plus taxes and the largest two-bedroom unit with a den is $516,000 (Canadian) plus taxes.
Complete furniture packages, right down to 400-thread-count sheets on all beds, come from Blackstone Interiors in Kelowna, B.C. and are priced from $19,000 (Canadian).

But it’s not all wine and dining that attracts people to Penticton and the Okanagan Valley.

The average temperature is 27 degrees Celsius (80.6 degrees F.) in summer and -2.6 degrees Celsius (27 degrees F.) in winter.

Whether kayaking, canoeing, jet-skiing, parasailing, paddle boating, fishing, swimming, or just plain sun-tanning and enjoying the ambience of the beach and boardwalk, Penticton is a Mecca for fun, sun and relaxation.

Okanagan Lake is a full 135 kilometres (84 miles) long, while Skaha, at just 11.8 kilometres (7.3 miles) is quieter and warmer.
A river channel (7 kilometers/4.3 miles) between the two is a favourite spot for tubing and floating while relaxing in the sun.
The temperate climate means orchards are in abundance as well, so people can stock up on all the favourite fruits in season.

The area hosts an annual Peach Festival and Ironman Triathlon, and sports and theatre are plentiful with the new $73 million (Canadian) South Okanagan Events Centre.

And seven championship golf courses as well as 21 other golf courses are all within a short drive.

In winter, Apex Mountain Resort is close by for skiing and snowboarding. Snowmobiling is a popular pastime around the area.
