Vision TRE, Inc. announced today a donation of $1,000 to Stephenson Middle School's math and science departments to help purchase equipment and supplies for teachers and students. The donation was received with many thanks from the school's principal, Mrs. Obelia Hall. "We believe in public education and during these tough times community businesses and individuals have to step up and support our neighborhood schools", said Mr. Johns, President of Vision TRE, an information technology near-shore staff augmentation company located in the Atlanta area.

Vision TRE is adopting Stephenson Middle School and plans to provide continued support to the math, science, and technology programs there. "In my work I see near-shore markets in South and Central America that have a growing middle class of motivated young professionals that our young people need to be well prepared to compete with, and ready to benefit from the opportunities that this new consumer market will create," said Mr. Johns.

Vision TRE is a privately owned company that has a history of community giving through donations to the Fisher Family Scholarship Fund, Howard University, and local churches. "This has been a good year and becoming a partner in education with Stephenson Middle is our way of sharing this success," said Mr. Johns.

Stephenson Middle School is located in Stone Mountain, Georgia. It opened its doors in the fall of 1996 to approximately 1,100 students. Today, Stephenson Middle School serves a population of approximately 1,400 sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students. Stephenson Middle School seeks to provide an environment of stimulating, rigorous, and uplifting educational opportunities that extend from traditional classroom instruction to extracurricular activities aimed at developing students as well-rounded individuals.

As a relatively new school, Stephenson Middle has focused on building a tradition of excellence in academics, sports and other activities. Stephenson offers many clubs in a variety of interests for the students. Stephenson sports teams and our students participate enthusiastically and successfully in art, music and other programs. Fine Arts clubs include Art, Artist's Forum, Cultural Arts and Drama clubs. Other clubs include Academic Bowl, Book, Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl, Computer/Business, Jazz Band, Science Fair, Social Studies Fair, Writer's and Yearbook clubs. Honors programs are well populated, as the children work hard and excel at their studies.

Stephenson's 4-H Club and the Georgia Extension Service received a grant from Chevron USA to develop a nature trail near the edge of the campus which adjoins a DeKalb County Park.
