Canton, GA (PRWEB) August 24, 2010
Alliance Management & Consulting Group (AMCG), of Canton, Georgia, has launched a new venture that specializes in helping marine businesses increase their effectiveness through proven industry- specific software programs. The new maritime based company is aptly christened Nautical Software Solution (NSS).
NSS, under AMCG, in June, 2010, acquired two time-tested marine-based software programs. President and founder Joseph DeMarco, said, "Our newly branded M-SHOP software is a marine service department software program that was developed in 1992 and specializes in small service-only repair shops. The former WatchCaptain Professional (now Management PRO or M-PRO) software specializes in the small to medium-sized marine businesses that require full management features with an accounting general ledger.
"Marine businesses who weathered the economic storm had solid service foundations, and it is these businesses that will experience resurgence in the boating industry. They will become the backbone of the 'new boating industry' as they grow to fulfill the needs of new boat sales when the industry recovers in the near future. Management PRO's direct link to Quick Books is very important because Quick Books is the accounting software used by most marine businesses. This was one of the main reasons we made the purchase," said DeMarco.
"Our studies show that most of the failed businesses lacked a strong service commitment, therefore when boat sales dropped off they had no support system in place to survive the economic downturn," says De Marco. "We can offer that support system."
With the sale of WatchCaptain PRO to AMCG, Doug Thompson, Watch Captain president and CEO, said that AMCG was carefully selected based on its ability to provide software solutions for small to medium-sized marine businesses and "to offer valuable marine business consulting services that will help bolster marine business productivity. We are confident in their ability to serve our former clients."
Existing M-PRO client Patricia Stolte of Glyn's Marine Inc., Nantucket agrees with Thompson. In an email to AMCG when the product acquisition was announced Stolte said, "Thank you so much for acquiring PRO! I look forward to seeing my current software improved and having a broader support system in place."
The software products will be sold under the new brand Nautical Software Solution (nauticalsoftwaresolution.com) Email is info(at)nauticalsoftwaresolution(dot)com. Branding and marketing powered by fuelmedia inc. in Salem Mass.
