TextWise today announced the release of faceted search capability on SemanticHacker API. Prior to faceted search, a ranked list of documents based solely on relevance were returned to the user. Now users will receive the added benefit of faceted search results.
“We saw a need from our customers to provide more efficient and effective search using our API,” said Mary McKenna, CEO of TextWise. “Giving users the ability to target their searches using facets is a great service upgrade for all customers of the SemanticHacker API.”
The API provides developers and enterprises access to proprietary Semantic Signature technology. Semantic Signatures provide a unique way to represent and analyze multiple concepts and topics in text. They can be constructed using questions, word-lists (e.g., metadata), short passages (such as text advertisements or image labels), web pages, or full text documents (e.g. technical articles).
There are four services on SemanticHacker API:
1. A Signature service call that analyzes text or a web page and returns a Semantic Signature, including multiple weighted semantic dimensions assigned to the text.
2. A Match service call that analyzes the text or Web page that returns a Semantic Signature and a relevance ranked match list.
3. A Category service call that identifies topic categories for the text or web page, ordered by category weight.
4. A Concept service call that provides machine readable and cloud tags based the on concepts in the text or web page supporting content navigation and quick text summaries.
Media companies may want to segment search results by date, source or author. Retail clients may want to show their product matches by price or type of products. The combination of your content and TextWise’s powerful semantic matching with facets increases the search power on your website or application. Try our API at no cost by registering for an account.
