Nourish Interactive Inc partnered with Fresh Choice Restaurants to promote healthy eating to children in honor of National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month.

Nourish Interactive Inc. ( partnered with Fresh Choice Restaurants ( for a special Family Night event designed to promote healthy eating to children in honor of National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month.

September is National Childhood Obesity Awareness month. With two thirds of American children overweight or obese, the United States spends approximately $150 billion every year to treat obesity related conditions, and that number is growing. and Fresh Choice collaborated to create a fun Family Night that would use interactive nutrition games and prizes that centered around fruits and vegetables.

This is a unique partnership when a restaurant chain and nutrition education website team up to use the restaurant experience as an opportunity to educate children. and Fresh Choice have been working together to incorporate healthy messaging to families into the restaurant for the last few months.

Family night will take place in San Mateo Fresh Choice Restaurant on Thursday, September 2, 2010 from 5:00pm – 8:00pm.    This event will feature healthy characters that make nutrition fun like Chef Solus and the Produce Bunch. Kids will have fun playing Chef Solus online nutrition games created by at two computer stations. There will also be games and prizes such as:

  • “color your plate” station
  • tic-tac-toe using fruits and vegetables
  • farm to table coloring station
  • photo ops with Chef Solus

Kids will also be entered in a grand prize drawing with a chance to win a Wii.
