During a time where even most adults would have thrown in the towel, young Ebone Marie Jimerson persevered and went on to take home the crown at the Miss Junior Teen Pennsylvania Pageant on August 17, 2010 in the National American Miss Pageant competition. Having recently suffered the loss of her Grandmother, Ms. Terri R. Beale, Ebone was broken yet determined to achieve her goal of becoming Miss Junior-Teen Pennsylvania.
Ebone, who has participated and been runner up in countless pageants, placed and won in many categories over the years, took home the crown on August 17 , 2010. One of few girls of color in the pageant, Ebone Marie Jimerson is poised, determined and focused. “Sometimes I just marvel at the presence of my daughter” says Deena Jimerson, Ebone’s mother and President of Marie D’ Madearis Couture. She continues “you try to instill all the right ingredients of a successful person into your children and then you have to pray that it works out. I am so proud of her.” Ebone is a confident and community oriented young woman. She uses the strength she’s gained from her losses to encourage and help others.
The National American Miss Pageants are dedicated to celebrating America’s greatness and encouraging its future leaders. Each year, the National American Miss Pageants awards 1.5 Million dollars in cash, scholarships, and prizes to recognize and assist the development of young women nationwide. National American Miss has added the ultimate door prize to Nationals 2010. Each girl that qualifies for the national pageant has a chance to win a new 2010 Ford Mustang Convertible.
Next up on the docket for Ebone, is the National competition for Miss Junior USA in November, community projects, appearances and speaking engagements. She wants to encourage other young people to live their dreams and understand that with prayer, hard work and dedication, they can become even greater.
About Ebone Marie Jimerson: Ebone Marie Jimerson is a Pennsylvania native, thrives to be a High-Fashion Model icon in this lifetime, for that reason she stays grounded, positive, focused and aggressive. To date, she has participated and placed in many pageants, magazine print ads, community events and commercial parts in New York City. At the tender age of 5 Ebone Marie graced the runway in the Lil Miss America, princess division, representing Pennsylvania, where she won first place. August 2008, Ebone Marie competed in the National America Miss Pageant Jr Teen division at the states capitol, Harrisburg, PA where she placed Top 20 out of 158 contestants. She won the 2009 spokes model competition and placed 1st runner up in casual wear modeling in 2009.
