Scranton, PA (PRWEB) September 8, 2010

Imagine a single software system that can seamlessly integrate a company’s core functions to help it become much more efficient and competitive. Such a system exists—it’s called Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and it’s rapidly being adopted by successful businesses around the world today. Forrester Research projects ERP will command a $50 billion global industry by 2012. To help business professionals gain an edge with this new technology, The University of Scranton has added a specialization in Enterprise Resource Planning to its respected online MBA program.

The ERP specialization is designed for experienced business professionals looking to deliver top value, innovation, and opportunities for growth to their companies—and to their careers. The program consists of 9 credit hours, for a total of 36 credit hours to complete the MBA program. Students in this specialization will:

  •     Learn the ins and outs of the ERP software by SAP, one of the top vendors in the marketplace
  •     Develop enhanced knowledge of ERP systems that is applicable across a wide range of industries
  •     Boost their managerial and technical skills
  •     Position professionals for a promotion, pay raise, or a career in ERP consulting
The specialization draws on a longstanding partnership with SAP, the world’s leading provider of business software solutions, through its University Alliances Program. Graduates of the online MBA with the ERP specialization, who complete an additional ERP course, may attend a one-week boot camp offered by SAP. The intensive training is followed by an exam, which awards the SAP Associate certification to those who pass.

“ERP systems are becoming an integral part of the way business is done today,” says Michael Mensah, Dean of Kania School of Management. “By combining the advanced business knowledge of an MBA with training in the implementation, use, and applications of these systems, business professionals can be in a prime position to make exceptional improvements in efficiency and performance at their organizations.”
