Eight James Scott Farrin Attorneys Win NC Advocates for Justice Awards

Eight attorneys from the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin have received 2010 Order of Service Awards from the North Carolina Advocates for Justice (NCAJ).

RALEIGH, North Carolina - Eight attorneys from the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin have received 2010 Order of Service Awards from the North Carolina Advocates for Justice (NCAJ). They are:

Donald Bardes

During the award period, Personal Injury Attorney Donald Bardes served as Co-Chair of a Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminar on Disbursements. In addition, he was – and remains – a member of the Legislative Committee.

Adrienne Blocker

Litigation Attorney Adrienne Blocker is currently serving her third year as Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Chair for the NCAJ Auto Torts Section. During the award period, she chaired a Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminar and is scheduled to chair at least two more CLEs in the coming year.

She currently serves on the NCAJ Education Committee. She is also a founding member and on the Board of Directors for the Carolina Center for Civic Education (CCCE), which is partially funded by the NCAJ. Adrienne Blocker currently serves as Co-regional Coordinator for the Carolina Center for Civic Education’s (CCCE) Mock Trial Competition in High Point, NC. This is her fourth Order of Service Award.

J. Stewart Clontz

Personal Injury Attorney J. Stewart served as Communications Chair for the NCAJ Auto Torts Section, member of the Auto Torts Executive Committee and Publisher/Editor of the Auto Torts Section’s newsletter. He also helped to found the NCAJ Blog and served as its first Editor-in-Chief. He continues his service in all of these capacities, and expanded his role on the Auto Torts Executive Committee for the coming year to include serving as Secretary. This is his third Order of Service Award.

Sean Cole

Litigation Attorney Sean Cole served on the NCAJ Education and Legal Affairs committees, the Uniform Apportionment of Tort Responsibility Act (UATRA) Taskforce and as the editor of the NC Manual of Complaints (3rd Ed.). He also wrote manuscripts for various NCAJ publications, and spoke at two CLE seminars. He continues his service in all of these capacities, including editing the fourth edition of the NC Manual of Complaints. This is his fourth Order of Service Award.

Rick Fleming

Rick Fleming is Head of the Social Security Disability Department at the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin. A North Carolina Board Certified Specialist in Social Security Disability Law, Fleming has been on the executive committee of the NCAJ Disability Advocacy Section since 2004 and served as Co-Chair of multiple Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminars during the past five years. Last year, he served as Vice Chair of the NC Advocates for Justice (NCAJ) Disability Advocacy Section.

He currently is a member of the NCAJ Board of Governors, Chair of the Disability Advocacy Section, and is a member of the Hispanic/Latino Affairs Division and the Workers’ Compensation Section. This is his third Order of Service Award.

Barry Jennings

Barry Jennings is a North Carolina Board Certified Specialist in Workers’ Compensation Law. During the award period, he served as a member of the organization’s Workers’ Compensation Section and participated in a regional meeting. He is currently a member of the Workers’ Compensation Section.

Michael Jordan

Personal Injury Attorney Michael Jordan served on the NCAJ Board of Governors. He also served as the organization’s overall Publication’s Chair, the Publication’s Chair for the Auto Torts Section and as a member of the Ethics Committee and President’s Club. He also began updating a chapter in the NC Personal Injury Liens Manual. He continues his service in all of these capacities. This is his fourth Order of Service Award.

Jennifer Shapiro

Jennifer Shapiro is a North Carolina Board Certified Specialist in Workers’ Compensation Law. During the award period, she served as a member of the organization’s Workers’ Compensation Section and participated in a regional meeting. She is currently a member of the organization’s Workers’ Compensation Section. This is her second Order of Service Award.
