Communications technology visionary Dr. Hossein Eslambolchi and longtime telecom and retail energy executive Phillip Tonge have joined the board of directors for Verecloud Inc., which equips communications service providers (CSPs) with a cloud services aggregation platform enabling them to capture more of the emerging cloud computing services market.
"We are very excited to have these two outstanding individuals join our board”, said Verecloud Chief Executive Officer John McCawley. “They bring a unique combination of thought leadership and operational experience that will be invaluable to us as we expand our cloud computing products and services."
Dr. Eslambolchi is chairman of 2020 Venture Partners, which provides technology and operations consulting to private equity and venture capital firms in the area of telecommunications IP software and infrastructure. Previously, he spent 19 years at AT&T where he held several executive positions including chief technology officer and president of AT&T Global Networking Technology Services and president and CEO of AT&T Bell Laboratories. Called "a bold, pragmatic visionary" by Business Week Magazine, Dr. Eslambolchi has won numerous awards, including the AT&T Science and Technology Medal, and holds more than 1,000 patents.
Tonge most recently served as president of North American residential and small commercial businesses at Direct Energy, one of North America’s largest competitive energy suppliers of electricity, natural gas and related services. Tonge, who joined Direct Energy in 2004, previously served as president of the company’s U.S. operations and president of its Texas unit. He retired from Direct Energy in 2009.
Tonge also worked at AT&T for more than 20 years, serving as president of AT&T residential local services and vice president of consumer services. Tonge is chairman of the Southwest Region of the Boys and Girls Clubs of America and is a member of the national board of governors for the organization. He also is a member of the board of advisors for the Texas Institute for Sustainable Technology Research.

Verecloud is focused on enabling communications service providers (CSPs) to capture market share in the expanding and lucrative cloud computing market.
