Barcelona, Spain (PRWEB) September 3, 2010
The new Spanish software company, SIRONTA SOFTWARE S.L. will be present at the 2010 OpenOffice.org Conference with the release of its new product, Sironta, a Peer-to-Peer collaboration platform used for exchanging, creating and editing documents that require teamwork, offering the most flexible sharing features while keeping your privacy and freedom.
Sironta connects two or more users without making any network changes to share files of any type and any size from anywhere in the world keeping the confidentiality and the IPR that such documents may have.
Because of its P2P method, after editing a document, only changes are sent through the network, not entire files. Even more, you can edit your OpenOffice.org documents off-line, without the need to be connected to the network. Once you reconnect to the Internet, your peers will synchronize with you and will see the realized changes.
Sironta is the open source alternative to Microsoft SharePoint. Moreover, there are some features making a difference:
Room's Metaphor: Sironta reduces the learning curve, it is great for project collaboration and provides real time activity feeds.
P2P: Keep your privacy and protect your intellectual property.
Zero Administration: No need for IT administrative personnel.
Universal: Collaborate with everyone inside or outside your corporation, with any operating system or file format.
The 2010 OpenOffice.org Conference takes place from August 31 to September 3 at the Central European University in Budapest, with the plenary session being held at the Hungarian Parliament. This new collaboration software will be presented the September 3rd at midday.
“Our product is ready to provide collaboration services to every PC or Mac user, helping them to create, edit and share information and documents with their partners, regardless of the OS used” said Pablo Hernández, Co-Founder and CEO of Sironta. “We are proud of the support received from Oracle Corporation and OpenOffice.org to make Sironta even a better product.”

Sironta is the first P2P collaboration tool with OpenOffice.org embedded to create and edit documents that can be shared with other Sironta users. It is developed on Eclipse with an AGPL v3 license and uses XMPP protocol to manage the communications between peers.
Sironta is encompassed within the DEN4DEK (Digital Ecosystems Network of regions for DissEmination and Knowledge Deployment) and OPAALS (Open Philosophies for Associative Autopoietic Digital Ecosystems) European projects and is already used by MIT students.
The application has Linux, Windows and Mac OS versions. All three versions can be downloaded for free from Sironta's website.
