THE TENNiS APP version 3.1, as featured on Tennis Channel, is a new universal app for the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. The iPad version has quickly gained attention during the 2010 US Open by moving up to the #1 position in the iTunes store under the search “tennis”.
THE TENNiS APP was developed by Bob and Mike Bryan, the #1 doubles team in the world and winners of eight Grand Slam doubles titles, including the 2010 Australian Open. “I love the iPad and my iPhone… I’m always downloading apps,” says tech-savvy Bob Bryan. “We had an idea to develop a tennis app as a teaching tool and we’ve had a lot of fun doing it."
THE TENNiS APP delivers many exciting features to the tennis enthusiast:
Up-to-date rankings including ATP Singles, ATP Doubles, ATP Doubles Teams, WTA Singles, WTA Doubles, and Points Race. THE TENNiS APP rankings also include player photos, so users always know who’s who. The user can quickly find their favorites with the ability to sort by rank, name, or country. The rankings are automatically updated when they come out each week.
THE TENNiS APP live scores will keep users on top of all the latest action in the tennis world. The app features the most comprehensive tennis scores with results for all of the major events: ATP, WTA, Davis Cup, Fed Cup, World Team, Qualifiers, Challengers, ITF and the Grand Slams: Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open. Matches can be located by tournament or by player. Instant access is available for live matches, matches that are marked with a “star” as a favorite, and matches for favorite selected players.
THE TENNiS APP moderated news allows the user to stay up to date on the latest in tennis through tweets and web links. The best of tennis info is delivered to the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch daily.
The app features detailed interactive instruction from Bob and Mike Bryan. THE TENNiS APP's unique animation control allows users to slow down the action by adjusting playback speed. Lessons can be paused and stepped frame by frame to study every detail. And Smart Zoom™ automatically zeros in on the most important portion of the animation or photo.
There are dozens of free lessons, hints, and Smart Points™ available for download, with more being added all the time.
Often left-handers are forced to mentally transpose instruction from that shown by typically right-handed players. Not so with THE TENNiS APP. It has the unique ability to automatically flip animations and photos to depict either right or left-handed examples. So a left-hander can still learn frame-by-frame how to hit a world-class backhand return from the right-handed Mike, and a right-hander can follow the signature serve of left-handed Bob.
The Bryans hope to include other top players in the stroke analysis series as they look to build a library of content.
THE TENNiS APP is available for free at the Apple App Store.
THE TENNiS APP is provided by THE TENNiS APP LLC, founded in 2010 and is based in Henderson, Nevada.
