We are proud to expand our commitment to both the meetings industry and the local community with the premiere of this Sonoran showpiece.
Scottsdale, AZ (Vocus) September 2, 2010
The Phoenician will officially open its highly anticipated 15,000 square-foot Camelback Ballroom -- the new centerpiece of the AAA Five Diamond resort’s diverse meetings and events space -- for business on Friday, October 1.
Located at the southeast base of Camelback Mountain, the facility will feature high clerestory windows, multiple registration areas and a separate valet entrance, and will have the ability to be subdivided into seven separate function areas. A large outdoor plaza will provide additional options for breaks and receptions, all complemented by stunning views of the resort’s championship golf course – including the new and Arizona’s only sand island green at Oasis Course No. 9 – as well as surrounding desert and mountain landscapes.
Encompassing a total of 45,000 square feet, including back-of-house operations and pre-function space, the $40 million structure will incorporate a lobby foyer entry that will seamlessly join the new ballroom to the resort’s pre-existing main meeting area, highlighted by the 22,543 square-foot Phoenician Grand Ballroom. With the introduction of the new facility, The Phoenician will join an elite set, becoming one of only four luxury properties in the U.S. capable of hosting groups of up to 800 people, providing guestroom accommodations, food & beverage and meetings facilities. Together, both Phoenician ballrooms will also allow for the booking of larger, simultaneous local social events, creating a combined capacity of 2,500. In addition, the new ballroom will increase the resort’s overall interior/exterior meeting and event space to more than 120,000 square feet.
