A young entrepreneur, understanding the current economic situation, develops a new coupon website that addresses the growing number of budget-conscious consumers, helping them connect with businesses through the Internet.

23-year old, Angela Roedersheimer was studying Communications at the University of South Florida when an internship opportunity presented itself during her senior year. She was brought into the internship program with Strategic Media Inc. in Clearwater Florida. Strategic Media is a Florida based advertising and media company which specializes in non-traditional advertising media.

Angela describes her internship as a valuable learning experience with multiple facets. “They really gave me the opportunity to wear many different hats while perfecting my strengths and improving my weaknesses”, she states. Angela started her internship working 18 hours a week with the development team for CouponChuck.com an online coupon website. “Angela and fellow intern Ryan Leffler were intimately involved in the creative development of http://couponchuck.com under the mentorship of Nhan Nguyen” said Chuck Nelms, company CEO.

The websites URL CouponChuck.com, named after Chuck Nelms, was the idea of intern Ryan Leffler. The name started off as a joke when the creative team was unable to come up with a website name that Chuck would approve. In the end, the consensus of the company was that Couponchuck.com was in fact the best choice. “It’s exciting to see something that you help develop and create come alive. We just launched the website two months ago and already are experiencing great success with it. The concept is simple, everyone is looking to save money and the internet is where people are shopping.” Angela stated. Angela Roedersheimer helped create the coupon website which currently features hundreds of businesses local to the Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Clearwater area.

The young and bright entrepreneur faces new challenges everyday. Angela mentions how there are always obstacles when starting a new business, especially a new idea. “There is a significant increase in financial awareness for consumers in all income levels. This has caused a change in the way people make purchasing decisions. This is evident with the increase of online searches for coupons” She explains. Angela describes the website as innovative with its text-messaging feature but is also fun to use with its social media platforms. She promotes her project through numerous networking events and expos. Angela reveals that networking is one of her favorite things to do. “People have referred to me as a social butterfly and I truly enjoy meeting new people so networking has been beneficial to the growth of CouponChuck.com and me professionally.” she states.

Angela is the first of her family to graduate from college, completing her B.A. in Communications with a focus on Public Relations at the University of South Florida. Following her spring internship, she has taken a full-time position at Strategic Media as the Director of business development. She carries herself with a professional attitude and a positive outlook with her new position. She continues by saying, “I’m thrilled to be a part of this agency and have ownership in CouponChuck.com. We’re watching the website membership grow everyday. I’m looking forward to the future with some personal and professional goals set out for the next year. We plan to take the website to the Orlando market before year’s end and then nationally in 2010.” The young entrepreneur feels blessed to have a career in this economic climate but more importantly, feels proud and excited for her future and the future of CouponChuck.com.
