Next-generation television network blip.tv today announced the debut of two new ad campaigns in conjunction with Samsung Telecommunications America (Samsung Mobile) and Carl's Jr. This marks the first Android application for the online media company and the first time they've created a stop-motion advertising campaign on a client's behalf.
In a new collaboration with Samsung Mobile, blip.tv has created a new Android application for consumers who buy the new Samsung Galaxy S portfolio of mobile devices. The free app, exclusive to Samsung Galaxy S owners, will feature top series hosted by blip.tv. Show categories on the app include featured episodes, drama, comedy, music, documentary, tech, music and app reviews. The Samsung Mobile blip.tv App is housed for download at http://www.blip.tv/app.
Carl's Jr., one of the largest hamburger chains in the Western U.S., partnered with blip.tv to create three long-form, stop-motion animation commercials using only toy blocks. Two of the commercials focus on well known Philadelphia events, one fictitious and one historical, specifically the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the famous training scene from the movie "Rocky," while the third a monster terrorizing the city of Philadelphia. The ads were created and filmed by Karni Baghdikian and blip.tv in conjunction with Initiative Media, and are part of a larger promotional campaign for the new Carl’s Jr. Philly Cheesesteak Burger, which debuted August 14.
"Carl's Jr. is always looking for entertaining and engaging ideas that are above and beyond what is expected," said Brad Rosen berg, Digital Manager for Carl's Jr. "Working with blip.tv gave us the ability to create an ad campaign that would resonate with our core fans, while also appealing to a greater audience."
