Heart of a Champion Luncheon September 23rd at The Tower Club Celebrates Heart House Dallas' 10th Anniversary of Service to Children

The 2010 Heart of a Champion Luncheon benefits Heart House Dallas, a free after school educational program, on its 10th anniversary of service to children in the Dallas County area. Bill Lively is Keynote Speaker; Everson Walls, Honorary Chairman; and Scott Murray, Master of Ceremonies.

"Anyone who supports the programs of Heart House Dallas changes what life will be for our children," said Lea Beach, Executive Director, Heart House Dallas. "We are changing the community and the world one child at a time."

The 2010 Heart of a Champion Luncheon will benefit Heart House Dallas, a free afterschool educational program, on its 10th anniversary of service to children in the Dallas County area. The event, presented this year by Fulbright & Jaworski, L.L.P., will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at The Tower Club, 1601 Elm Street, Dallas, at 12 Noon.

Bill Lively, President & CEO, North Texas Super Bowl XLV Host Committee, is the keynote speaker at the September 23rd luncheon. Everson Walls, former Dallas Cowboys’ noted cornerback and current nationwide speaker is serving as Honorary Chairman. Local personality, Scott Murray, will act as Master of Ceremonies. A very special Heart of a Champion award presentation will be made to Barbara and Stanley Levenson, fervent advocates for Heart House Dallas and well-known in the local area for their philanthropic work in the community.

During the past ten years, Heart House Dallas has provided a safe, nurturing, and supportive haven for at-risk children at the apartment complexes where they live. Heart House provides academic support offering various programs that include homework assistance, citizenship and character development, math, science, and literacy lessons. The Heart House Dallas environment helps these children through each success to build their self-confidence significantly both at school and in life and the opportunity to become the best they can be as individuals.

“This year’s Heart of a Champion luncheon is special in so many ways and we are honored to have Bill Lively, Everson Walls, and Scott Murray join us in our celebration,” said Lea Beach, Executive Director, Heart House Dallas. “We are also thrilled to have the opportunity to recognize Barbara and Stanley Levenson who are so strongly committed to Heart House’s mission and goals.”

The Heart of Dallas Board’s committee co-chairs for the 2010 Heart of a Champion luncheon are Lisa Armstrong and Amy Stewart. The other committee members include Amy Krumholz and Elizabeth Moundas.
