In neighborhood after neighborhood throughout Chicago, PLS is distributing backpacks filled with school supplies to give kids a good start to the upcoming school year. Working closely with aldermen in their wards and participating in end-of-summer festivals, PLS is continuing its proud tradition of supporting education and assisting local families.

“Getting children ready to return to school can be a complicated process for many families,” said Bob Wolfberg, President, PLS. “We’re proud to do our part in supporting and participating in festivals and fairs that provide physical examinations and immunizations. And we really enjoy distributing backpacks filled with school supplies. It’s important to give kids the best start possible as we head into the new school year.”

PLS was a proud sponsor of WGN-TV’s 9th annual “Back to School” Kids Fair, which took place Friday, August 13 at WGN’s 2501 West Bradley Place headquarters. Mitts. “PLS is a good neighbor, and they share our belief that education is the key to a successful future.”

12th Ward Back to School/Immunization Day
PLS donated $500 worth of school supplies to Alderman George Cardenas, for distribution at his ward’s Alderman George Cardenas Back to School/Immunization Day event on Saturday, September 11 at the 12th Ward Public Service Office. Team members from PLS Check Cashers and PLS Loan Store will be distributing candy and information at the event.

“We want to make sure that families have the information and resources they need to properly prepare their children for the school year,” noted Ald. Cardenas. “PLS is a valuable and dependable partner in this important effort.”

Supplying More Students on Chicago’s West Side
PLS is also donating 75 backpacks filled with school supplies to Ald. Cardenas, who will distribute them among the aldermen of three neighboring wards. Alderman Willie Cochran (20th Ward), Alderman Pat Dowell (3rd Ward) and Alderman JoAnn Thompson (16th Ward) will each receive 25 backpacks to distribute to needy students in their wards.
