Happy Mango Beads announces its ‘Trash to Treasure’ beading contest with a recycle, repurpose and re-bead theme. Happy Mango Beads hopes to create a heightened sense of environmental responsibility and promote awareness through creativity.

Combine the love of the earth with the love of beading.

Turn recycled materials into jewelry art!
Empty out your jewelry box or hit the yard sales. Common trash such as; plastic, paper, metal and wood can often be used to create trendy jewelry. There are many forgotten beads and materials that simply need to be re-purposed. Old watches, gears and misc metal pieces look much better as a steampunk necklace than at the bottom of your junk drawer or even worse, in the landfill. Happy Mango Beads offers a large selection of recycled beads from Africa and Indonesia, as well as recycled aluminum beads from Ethiopia, recycled brass beads from Ghana and even vinyl disc beads made from old record albums and beads made from old magazines and newspapers. Visit Happy Mango Beads on facebook for great ideas on how to make bottle cap pendants and paper beads out of old magazines. The ideas are endless and fun!
