Professional photographer camera bag company Think Tank Photo is celebrating its Fifth Anniversary by hosting a multi-level photo contest that offers a $5,000 Grand Prize and multiple first place, second place , third place, and honorable mention prizes. There is no fee required for entering. To enter, photographers click on the “CONTESTS” tab on Think Tank Photo’s Facebook page.
A panel of judges led by Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist and Think Tank Photo co-founder Deanne Fitzmaurice will select the winning photographs from those submitted by the contest’s ending date of November 30, 2010. In addition, first place prizes will be awarded in each of the four contest categories to the photographers receiving the most “likes” from Fans. Judging will take place during December, with the winners announced in January 2011.
The four contest categories are:
- What does urban, gritty, or edgy mean to you?
- The most creative, interesting, or unique “What’s In Your Bag” shot.
- The most creative, interesting, or unique shot of photographers wearing/using Think Tank gear.
- Any photo the entrant believes portrays Think Tank Photo’s “Be Ready ‘Before the Moment’” theme.
“Even though we design our gear to meet the rigorous standards of the working photographer, we do so knowing that a great many of our customers are amateur photographers who take their photography seriously,” said Doug Murdoch, Think Tank Photo’s president and lead designer. “We invite any photographer, anywhere in the world to enter their photos into our contest. As there are four contest categories, all entrants have four chances to win.”
