“This new version of SofTest will enable our team to better support users, while improving their testing experience,”said Jane Chang Bright, assistant director of Student Computing Services at the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law.
Deerfield Beach, FL (PRWEB) September 8, 2010
ExamSoft Worldwide, Inc., a market leader in high stakes computer-based testing, today announced the release of SofTest Mac to support the ever-growing population of Mac users. SofTest Mac is part of the Flex-SiteTM Suite, a powerful, and easy to use suite of software that manages the entire testing process, including design, delivery, scoring/analysis, and process management. Over 200 academic, licensing, and certifying institutions, including 34 U.S. state board of bar examiners use the Flex-Site Suite to administer secure, high stakes examination s.
“Mac usage is increasing across our campus, and a native Mac version is very important to our support team and our users,” said Jane Chang Bright, assistant director of Student Computing Services at the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law. “This new version of SofTest will enable our team to better support users, while improving their testing experience.”
Dr. Albert Simon, vice dean at the School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona agreed, “SOMA is dedicated to delivering a new, modern, technology-driven curriculum for osteopathic professionals. It is important we meet the needs of our students, and the new version of SofTest helps us accomplish that goal.”
The ExamSoft suite of software employs an online/offline delivery model to provide broad-based functionality and flexibility. The software uses the Internet to deliver robust exam creation, management, and scoring tools, which help administrators create, store, and manage as well as assemble exams and analyze results. Post exam analysis can be done on individual questions or exam-takers responses to improve test quality and learning outcomes.
With ExamSoft, the actual exams are securely administered offline, on any computer including student-owned laptops. This eliminates a number of reliability issues traditionally associated with online computer based testing. In addition, with no internet connection, the test is very secure and students are no longer limited to testing in computer labs, where seating is often very limited.
Ms. Chang Bright continued, “Our program was an early adopter of computer-based testing, and ExamSoft, our long-time partner, has always been flexible in helping meet our needs and those of our users. Flexibility is very important to our school. ExamSoft enables us to install, support, implement, and test how and where we want. We are not forced to comply with a cookie-cutter model of testing. “
“Over the past 10, years ExamSoft has delivered over 4 million exams, and in that time we have seen a number of changes. One of the most significant is the increase in Mac users," said David Schnabel, president of ExamSoft. “We are dedicated to supporting the needs of our clients and their users, so we are excited about the release SofTest Mac. We are particularly excited because the new release was a collaborative effort with our clients who helped us with design feedback and pre-launch testing."
