Foot Fashion—Yes! Foot Pain—No!
The Spa at Mohonk Mountain House introduces new ways to soothe the soles and spirit
Fashionable shoes—on the job, on the run, and for social events after hours—are a fact of life, but foot pain doesn’t have to be. Treatments addressing the real pain that fashionable footwear can create are new to the bountiful spa menu at Mohonk Mountain House, a National Historic Landmark resort located in New Paltz, New York. The High Heeler and Man on the Go provide immediate relief for calves and feet and are offered exclusively at the award-winning 30,000 square-foot eco-friendly Spa at Mohonk Mountain House.
A recent story in The New York Times noted that the height of shoe heels seem to grow as the economy dips. And as heels rise, so does the need to take better care of our soles. The High Heeler and Man on the Go benefit tired, overworked and under-appreciated muscles of the legs and feet. From extended hours on the job, to caring for the kids and running around town, the lower legs provide support and literally carry the weight of daily demands. An invigorating foot scrub and peppermint-infused massage coupled with stretch techniques specific to the feet and calves produce benefits felt from the hips to the toes. The treatments are fifty minutes each ($118) and are now available at the Spa at Mohonk Mountain House.
To provide the perfect opportunity to experience these new treatments, Mohonk Mountain House has introduced a new inclusive and budget-friendly overnight package: The Spa-cation Special! Rates begin at $279 per person, per night, based on double occupancy. Each person will receive a $130 spa credit, along with access to the sauna, stream room, and outdoor heated mineral pool. Guests will also enjoy discounts on spa retail products and on one additional spa treatment. Included in the rate are three meals daily, afternoon tea and cookies, and most resort activities—such as guided nature hikes, tennis, golf, fitness, yoga, and meditation classes, boating, swimming, and more. This package requires a two night minimum (Sunday through Thursday) and is subject to availability. Taxes and a 15% service charge are additional. The Spa-cation Special is available from September 6 through March 27, 2011.
