The new ModernLearner.com provides industry insights, interviews, and reviews about online education.

Modern Learner magazine (http://www.modernlearner.com) debuts today, providing innovative and engaging content on distance education and other nontraditional learning. The site features insights, interviews, and reviews related to online degrees and training.

The web-based magazine includes regular contributions from industry experts such as Dr. David Lady, CEO and president of Aspen University, a leading distance education provider since 1987. The site also features a comprehensive directory of distance degrees and programs including online degrees from the nation’s top schools, online executive MBA programs, mini-MBA programs, and graduate degree alternatives to the MBA.

“I’m excited to rollout Modern Learner; it’s time for a publication like this,” commented Thomas Heim, publisher. “Distance education is vastly popular, but very few people are paying close attention to trends and news in the industry.”

New content will be added to Modern Learner every month. For September, Dr. Lady provides his opinion on the current state of distance education, suggesting that an improved faculty model will help move distance education forward. Also, for this month, Modern Learner interviews a hiring manager with Accenture to talk about MBA desirability. In addition, the site highlights MBA alternatives from eight leading universities. September’s issue of Modern Learner also explores master degree programs in the growing field of public relations.
