Broadcore, a national provider of business-class hosted unified communications (UC) services, today announced it was selected by Camino Nuevo Charter Academy (CNCA) to provide Hosted Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services which qualify for E-rate priority 1 discount program. CNCA will enjoy lower total cost of communications services while being able to focus their freed IT resources on education projects. The Schools and Libraries Program of the Universal Service Fund, commonly known as "E-Rate," makes discounts available to eligible schools and libraries for telecommunication services, Internet access, and internal connections.
“E-rate funding is one of the best ways for schools and libraries to leverage scarce technology dollars. As a Priority 1 service, hosted VoIP solutions can enable consistent, annual funding with a low up-front cost to applicants.” Said Bob Richter, President, E-rate Provider Services. “Hosted VoIP services are particularly well-suited to E-rate Program discounts, and represent an excellent opportunity for schools and libraries to achieve meaningful cost savings in these difficult budgetary times.”
The E-rate program is administered by the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) under the direction of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), and is intended to assist schools and libraries in the United States to obtain affordable telecommunications and Internet access.
“Broadcore hosted VoIP services are designated as a USAC ‘Priority 1’ service, which allow schools and libraries savings of up to 90% of their monthly service charges,” said Monty Ferdowsi, Broadcore CEO. “Additionally, our Hosted UC services provide schools like Camino Nuevo with a centralized, easy-to-administer solution that connects all campuses to one service and achieves free extension dialing among their schools.”
Broadcore offers lowered total cost of communications ownership by assuming the cost burdens associated with data redundancy, infrastructure expansions, technology obsolescence risks, system scalability, and new feature integration and updates. By removing the costs associated with infrastructure and additional IT staff to maintain increasingly complex communications technologies, Broadcore allows its clients and their IT organizations to focus on their core competencies while remaining current with the most recent communications technologies.
“Broadcore’s support team is not only knowledgeable, but very efficient, so choosing Broadcore hosted solution was a no brainer,” said Yolanda Sanchez, Communications and Compliance Manager at Camino Nuevo Charter Academy. “Broadcore’s features allow us to always stay connected, whether remotely or internally, with our offices and schools ensuring that we are able to support them at any time.”
Broadcore delivers its business class cloud-based UC services from servers housed in highly secure, geographically redundant data centers containing fault-tolerant servers that are load-balanced from server to server. In the unlikely event that one data center is unavailable, communications traffic is automatically routed to other data centers, ensuring business continuity and minimum disruption to business operations.
