Utica College to showcase economic crime and fraud degree programs at annual conference

Representatives of Utica College will be on hand to talk about the benefits of the college’s undergraduate and graduate degrees in economic crime and fraud management at the International Association of Special Investigation Units’ 25th annual Seminar & Expo on Insurance Fraud. The conference will be held at the JW Marriott Grand Lakes in Orlando, Florida, September 12-15. We invite you to join us at the Utica College booth (#207).

Utica is one of the few schools in the nation to offer online bachelor’s and master’s degrees tailored specifically to economic crime, with a curriculum aligned to the concerns of fraud professionals in the insurance industry. The programs benefit from research and studies undertaken by Utica College’s Economic Crime Institute and the Center for Identity Management and Information Protection, powerful centers for analysis and idea generation that are raising awareness and aiding in the fight against fraud.

“Insurance fraud is an ongoing problem, and developments in technology have resulted in more sophisticated scams that can be harder to detect and prosecute,” says George Curtis, J.D., professor and executive director of the Economic Crime Institute (ECI) of Utica College. “Through our suite of online bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in economic crime and fraud, Utica College is helping men and women prepare themselves for leadership roles in the fight against crimes that can cost millions of dollars and result in higher insurance fees for everyone.”

IASIU's annual seminar is recognized as a premier training program for investigators at all levels, from the experienced professional to those who are new to the field. The seminar includes presentations, workshops, and discussions on current and emerging issues facing insurance fraud investigators, including arson, auto and property theft, fraudulent life and disability claims, bodily injury scams, and workers' compensation fraud.

Representatives from Utica College will be available at booth #207 from September 12-15.
