New York, NY (PRWEB) September 8, 2010
Primary Wave Music Publishing and multi-platinum recording group Toad the Wet Sprocket announce an exclusive administration and marketing deal. Under the terms of the arrangement, Primary Wave will market and administer the band's catalog of songs.
Toad the Wet Sprocket was a radio and retail staple in the 90’s, selling over four million albums between 1990 and 1997 alone! Their success was spurred by a string of number-one hits including the anthemic modern classics “All I Want,” “Walk on the Ocean,” and “Fall Down.” The songs were made even more popular by Toad’s regular and memorable performance television appearances. The band were also famous for keeping their fan base in-touch and motivated, sending their mailing list everything from holiday cards to outtakes and demos to tide them over between albums. A band with a conscience, Toad lent their name to many causes, most notably social issues including work with RAINN (Rape Abuse Incest National Network, an abuse hotline) and Amnesty International. Although officially broken up since 1998, that band has continued to tour almost continually since 2002.
Says Adam Lowenberg, Primary Wave CMO, "Toad the Wet Sprocket is one of the most beloved and successful bands of the 90's alternative rock scene. We believe that now, almost two decades after the release of the seminal album "Fear," is the perfect time to strategically introduce an entirely new generation of listeners to the band's exceptional catalogue of songs."
The band, comprised of Dean Dinning, Glenn Phillips, Randy Guss and Todd Nichols are equally as optimistic, saying, “We're excited to be starting our partnership with Primary Wave. Their team has shown refreshing enthusiasm and creativity, as well as a willingness to adapt and question basic assumptions about how the music business should work. Toad's back catalog will be the jumping-off point of our collaboration, but we are also looking forward to working with them on new material and future opportunities.”
