State Net, the nation’s leading legislative and regulatory tracking service, today announced the appointment of long-time employee and executive, Laurie Stinson to Chief Executive Officer.

Jud Clark, Chairman of the Board of Information for Public Affairs, Inc, dba, State Net, announced that, as a result of the meeting held August 11, 2010, the Board had unanimously approved his recommendation that Stinson be appointed to succeed him, becoming the second CEO in the company’s 40-year history. Stinson’s appointment completes an executive transition that aims to take State Net to the next stage of its growth strategy.

“Laurie has successfully led the company as president and chief operating officer for the last 15 months,” said Clark. “During her tenure she has overseen significant infrastructure advancement while continuing to push expansion in sales, client services and product development. Her knowledge of the company and its markets, along with outstanding management skills, make her ideally suited to lead State Net in the coming years.”

Stinson, 48, has been with the company for twenty-nine years, starting as a bicycle messenger and working her way up to President and now CEO. She holds a B.A. in Communications and a Masters in Organizational Management.
